My friend actually just picked up a GX20, plugged it in, and it wasn't recognized in FC6. He was formerly using a GL2.
Should he go to the drop down and pick 'Easy Set Up'?

Googling I found a Samsung GX20...no Canon GX20. Are you sure about that model number? And is it a tape camera, or tapeless?
If it is a file based camera, you need to connect it and use Log and Transfer - not Log and Capture to ingest the footage from the camera.
The footage on the camera storage card needs to be HD, not SD, and Log and Transfer will not work if the footage was shot in the 1080 60p mode (1080 60i is fine).
