Mar 25, 2014 4:53 PM in response to artgreeneby lkrupp,To revert you would simply use your Time Machine backup to do so. If you don't have a backup the task becomes considerably more involved and with the possibility of losing data.
In any event reverting is unlikely to fix things. Tell us specifically what issues you have and maybe someone can help. The first recommendation would be to re-install the 10.9.2 update using what's called the "Combo" update. The Combo update contains all of the changes, patches, fixes, security improvements of both the 10.9.1 and the 10.9.2 updates combined (hence the name Combo). You can download it from Apple here
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1726?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Applying the Combo update works for the majority of people with issues caused by a bad or failed update. Also be sure to use Disk Utility to check the integrity of your boot hard drive first.

Apr 6, 2014 9:44 AM in response to baltwoby cwebber1,I am also interested in going back to 10.9.1 (because my sound doesn't work since the upgrade).
Can I just install the 10.9.1 update (from dmg) on top of the existing 10.9.2 system?
The reason I don't want to use TM, is that I don't want to lose my email messages, my phone backups, and all the little things I wrote or changed in the last week since my upgrade to 10.9.2.

No

Without using TM this will be very difficult.
It's your choice.

Apr 6, 2014 10:16 AM in response to Csound1by cwebber1,Is there a way to direct TM to only update the OS stuff, and not my user files?
My hunch is that there are ~/Library files modified by 10.9.2 that will not make sense to 10.9.1.
And if I let TM revert my ~/Library files, my mail goes back in time too (which is very undesireable).
Maybe Apple should consider 4 major partitions for their OS.
- OS Code
- System-wide and User Configuration (preferences)
- Security Files (passwords, access, etc)
- User Data
Today, it seems they are all comingled in ~/Library.

Apr 6, 2014 10:22 AM in response to cwebber1by Csound1,Make new backup (addional, don't overwrite the existing one) restore using the old backup, restore missing data (only) from the new one.

Apr 11, 2014 11:41 AM in response to Csound1by cwebber1,FYI, it was a hardware issue.
Took it to the Apple Store, and they replace the Logic Board.
