Mar 26, 2014 5:09 AM in response to vazandrewby g1ovanni,It sounds like I'm having the same problem as Milen2. I've tried unhooking everything but when I put everything back together I'm only given two options home sharing and settings. Also you know on the back of the router when there's a connection a light indicator comes on. There's no light that comes on. Also I use iPhone and iPad as a remote and it's not being recognize because there's no Internet connection. It seems like a lot of us are having this problem.?

Mar 26, 2014 8:37 AM in response to vazandrewby g1ovanni,How is it the router if the computer works and my wireless gadget work? Well I guess that doesn't matter.. How do I fix it? I've tried unhooking everything router included and still nothing? I can't even get pass the main screen because my remote isn't programmed and remotes on my iPhone/iPad require internet. I've tried changing the Ethernet wire, changing the port in the router, and unplugging over night still nothing..?

I don't know what model appletv you have. But it's possible that you have a 5ghz network and your appleTV can only do 2.4ghz. Again without understanding what router or appleTV you have I can only guess.
The good news is if your router is running at 5ghz then a quick test would be to either switch it to 2.4ghz or see if you can run it to accept both 5ghz and 2.4ghz connections. Many older devices only support 2.4ghz.
If this doesn't work more information on setup would be helpful to help you. Let us know

Mar 26, 2014 9:24 AM in response to g1ovanniby vazandrew,You made no mention of anything working and you stated that the router was not functioning properly. The bundled remote doesn't need any programming.
The remote app doesn't require internet access, it uses home sharing and is done over the local network. However, there are no apps stored on the Apple TV, and those do need internet access.
To get a report of your network you can go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC).

Very good points :).. Very interesting you brought up these points. I recently moved and I use Comcast internet when you move they change the modems. At first it worked but once I unplugged it to move it it stopped working. Now to answer your question: I have a third generation ATV and my modem model is TG862G, 115VAC, 50/60 HZ, 0.7 A MAX.
Hopefully that helps?
Thanks for you all help..

Mar 26, 2014 12:39 PM in response to g1ovanniby zycinsky,Comcast modem supports the same networks as your ATV gen 3. Unfortunately I don't know more then the 30sec google seach and what connection are supported
But I did find a number of articles like this one:
That people are complaining about the router not working well with AppleTV. I would put a call into comcast and see what they say.. (Could be one long wait to hear "have to you tired to turn it off and on").
You could do what some are doing by the read of the articles and turn off the Arris WIFI and but a new WIFI Router, but I also agree with people in the posts when they say "why should I have to spend $50 for a modem I'm paying $7/month for.. If I wanted it fixed quick I'd buy a router. If this is broke what's next.. Personal choice.
There is always a bit of voodoo with all message posts. Could be the router is fine and it's configuration..
Does the ATV see the wireless network (can you select it from the list).
or does it not see the network?
If you can see it, can you log into to it ok?
Then it could be a firewall setting in the modem blocking traffic.
Curious to find out the answer. Hope you update.. I'd call comcast next.
