Trouble with installation

I'm trying to install Garageband and Logic. Both end with the download getting about 75% done but asks for my administrative password once it begins to download the sounds and loops or whatever. If I click cancel the download stops but if I enter in my password the download continues and seconds later a dialouge screen pops up saying "check your connection, your computer needs to be connected to the internet" or something to that sort, just need some help this is getting pretty frustrating since it has been happening with two seperate programs. Also I have the latest version of Mavericks
