Please help!

Hi all,

My question is about my iPod (4th gen)

It got quite severly cracked over the past couple of years to the point where I can no longer enter the passcode in to the iPod.

I have some really important photos on there that I would hate to lose, and I want to know if there is any way (without swiping the data) I can get these downloaded on to my laptop without entering the passcode. iTunes at the moment says it cannot connect to my iPod as it is locked with a passcode, but I cannot enter it because of the cracks.

Yes, I know I should get the screen replaced but I don't have the money and need these photos ASAP for a friend.

PLEASE HELP!

iPod touch, 4th generation

If you have been backing up to iCloud, you may have an iCloud backup your can restore from once you get it fixed or replaced. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766

If you use My Photo Stream, you last 30 days worth of Photos may be retrieveable using the iCloud Control Panel on Windows or iPhoto on a Mac. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486 & http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1455

Some Apple Stores can repair the screen of some products without replacing the whole thing as a last restort.

If you don't use any of those and cannot get the screen fixed without replacing and you cannot enter the passcode, there is no way to get your Photos.

Try putting the iPod Touch in a Ziploc bag and playing with the screen to see if you can get in there one last time. Just don't cut yourself. I don't think Apple warranties your fingers 😝
