iphone imovie export finalized project with missing clips

Hi,

I created a movie using iMovie on my iPhone and finalized the project, then I deleted all the clips from the Cameral Roll.

Now I'm unable to edit or export the movie, because the clips are ,issing. But I can still play the finalized project.

Do you know how/where to find this movie file ? I'd like to export it to Camera Roll.

Thanks.

iPhone 5, iOS 7

Hi,

I just found the trick.

Hope it helps.

Follow these steps to recover a movie made on IOS with iMovie, and finalized. If the clips used to make the movie are missing, it is impossible to export the movie to camera roll, and yet the movie exists on the phone, and can be played within iMovie.

1) make a manual backup with iTunes

2) open the following location in the Finder on the Mac : ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

3) open the directory representing the last backup

4) sort the files on size, biggest on top.

5) drop each file in a media player such as VLC or Quicktime until you find the right movie.

6) copy the file on your Mac, in another directory, and rename it.

The lost movie is now safe on your Mac.

Any tricks how to send it back to the Camera Roll ? Tell me !
