All of a sudden my Trash folder shows a MobileBackups folder of 250GB in it. If i close it and open up the trash again, its gone at first, but a few minutes later it shows up again or sometimes the MacIntoshHD appears in their with it. I have my Trash folder sorted by Size, so I can see them at the top when they do show up.
Any ideas?

Restart the computer, then empty the Trash again.
What do you mean? The file Im looking for is not in the trash. It was possibly eliminated from the trash a few months ago.
However, Im wondering if timemachine backs up my trash folder, because if it does...
that file should be in the trash folder of any one of my old backups. 🙂
