How much would it cost to replace an iPhone 5 screen if I pay the $10 a month for the protection plan?

I shattered the screen to my iPhone 5 last night while getting out of the car. I am still able to see the screen behind it; I'm actually typing this on my phone now. I just need to know how much it would cost to replace the screen. Last time, I spent $160 at Best Buy because they had to send it in to the apple store. Would it be cheaper if I brought it directly to the apple store myself? Please help! Thank you.

The Apple Store charges $149 for a screen replacement (and not all Apple Stores do this; it would be $269 to replace the whole phone).

Some Apple stores in the US can now do in-store repairs, such as replace the screen on the iPhone 5-series, that is $149. You cannot buy the AppleCare+ protection once the device has been damaged or is more than 30 days past the date of purchase.

I already pay the monthly fee for the protection plan. Last time I needed my screen fixed, I brought it to best buy and since I had the plan, they "only charged me $150" because they said that is the fee for "sending it into the apple store."
