Q: air print?

I am trying to connect my ipad air 7.1 ios through air print to our office Ricoh mpc 3503 printer via bluetooth but it's only picking up another employees printer and it's not giving me the option to search for other printers.

How can I find the Ricoh through airprint.  We already tried re-booting the ipad and the printer.

thank you

AirPrint works only via WiFi, not Bluetooth. I know of only one printer that works via Bluetooth and that requires a special printing app provided by that printer manufacturer. And the MP C3503 is not listed on Ricoh's web site as supporting AirPrint. They have a "hot spot" feature which will apparently allow printing from mobile devices, but their site says that iOS and Android printing apps are not yet available. Check with Ricoh to make sure. For general information on AirPrint, see:

You can route the printing through your computer if you have one on WiFi. If you have a Mac, Printopia would be worth a look. Fingerprint is another option that is available for both Mac OS X and Windows system.

    Regards.

Ok good information.  but how about wifi, i'm connected through our office wifi and our ricoh printer has wifi as well.  shouldn't there be an option to select the additional printer?

Again, I see no indication that the Ricoh supports AirPrint, and if it doesn't, then even if it has WiFi the iPad can't natively print to it.  Third-party printing apps such as PrintCentral are available which may work with your Rich, though all such apps have limitations, so check them out thoroughly before you pay for any such app. You normally need to have your iPad and your printer on the same WiFi network before the printer will be recognized unless your company has one of the enterprise routing solutions in place that allows discover to span across subnets.

I'd suggest talking to Ricoh about this and see what if anything they know will work.

    Regards.
