Newbie on MacBook here.. After i updated my iPhoto, i noticed there were now 2 iPhoto icons in my launchpad, so i deleted one. Now there's a dimmed question mark on the other iPhoto icon & it won't open so i deleted that as well.. Any chance i can still recover my iPhoto without having to purchase it again? Many thanks!

In the finder go to your applicatiosn folder and double click on the iPhoto application to launch it - while it is running right click on the iPhtoo icon in the Dock and select oiptions ==> keep in dock

It's no longer in my application folder (in finder & launchpad).. i've also clicked updates & purchases in App Store & it's not there too 😟
1 - deleting from the Dock does not delete form the applications folder so you have done something else
2 - you
reinstall from the original source
Could be
1 - the restore disks that came with the computer
or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

Yay! Thank you very much Larry! I didn't sign in on the App Store that's why the iPhoto didn't show on purchases a while ago. I'm installing it now. Thanks again! Much appreciated! 😀
P.s i didn't delete it from the dock, i deleted it from the launchpad 😝
