So the TC is an extra router which can connect to other wireless (Apple) devices and also be used as a backup / storage device?

Mar 26, 2014 2:10 PM in response to rossromyby Bob Timmons,That is correct. In a nutshell, the TC is a wireless router with a built in hard drive.
If you already have a wireless router and don't need the wireless capability, the wireless function on the TC can be turned off, so the device will operate as a network drive for backups.

So I can still use all my wireless devices with the TC as router and storage, like my iPad, iPhone and printer?
