Just to add to what Csound1 said above, you can also check your storage on the device that you will be backing up. Settings > iCloud > [device] and under Backup Options it will give a breakdown of the usage of each app.

If your Camera Roll is taking up all the space, then you should be backing up your photos and videos onto your computer:

Mmm. I wonder what that 14 MB Camera Roll on my iPad is.

Post a screenshot of what you are seeing.

And what about this from the link above:

If you take many photos and videos with your iOS device, you may notice that your Camera Roll takes up most of your iCloud storage. To check the size of the Camera Roll backup on your device:

Backups are stored in iCloud (if you choose to backup to iCloud instead of your Mac) Photos are not.

If you don't want Backups stored in iCloud backup to your Mac instead.

thanks for responding to that question - I had it too, this morning, and found that if I logged into iCloud.com and tried to find out how much storage I'd used, there was no way to do it from my iMac or MacBook Air. At least, not according to the iCloud.com FAQs... It'd be nice if Apple would provide all the info where one can find it. Since they don't, I am always grateful for this discussion forum.
