My iPod nano will not turn on no matter what I do.

I tried holding the play button to turn it on. I tried charging it for a couple of hours. I tried resetting it. I tried plugging it into my computer. None of this made it turn on or even make a flicker of light. What should i do?

Did you do the Reset (restart) as described in this document?

If the battery is low, you should do this while it is connected to power.

If the screen does not come ON at all, the iPod is probably not getting any power when connected. There are three possibilies. (1) Problem with USB port being used. (2) Problem with USB docking cable. (3) Problem on iPod.

You should do some tests to rule out (1) and (2). And if you can rule out (1) and (2), the cause is likely to be (3). In this case, it may be a bad dock connector on the iPod, or a faulty logic board.

The iPod will need to be serviced, to determine the exact fault and repair it (if possible). You can get the current 7th gen iPod nano as an Apple-certified refurb for $99 (with a one-year warranty)

so the cost to repair your nano may not be economical. If you are the good at such things, this web site has DIY repair guides

Be sure to rule out the other possibilities. If you have an Apple Store nearby, you can make a reservation at the store's Genius Bar and take it there (along with your docking cable).

At an Apple Store's Genuis Bar, it does not cost anything to make a reservation and have it checked (to confirm it has a hardware problem). They'll rule out the other possibilties. If it's a hardware problem on the iPod, they can let you know if it's something they can repair and the cost.

If there's a conveniently located Apple Store, you can make a reservation at the store's web page

There are probably other non-Apple repair shops in your area, which an Internet search should reveal.
