So recently I was messing around with dns codes and got myself into a jam. I figured the best solution...was reset, reboot and forget. Unfortunately for me...its still connected to my network but not connecting to the internet. IP address, etc... all seems to be blanked out but I'm showing its connected to my network at full signal strength. Is my Apple TV 3rd Gen pooched?

If it's blank then it's not really connected, best not to be messing around with DNS. Have you set it back to automatic? Have you tried connecting via Ethernet? Have you tried a restore?
Yes, I have set it back to Automatic and even tried to reset all settings. I was unable to restore due to the fact that I currently have no internet connection. Again, I successfully connected to my wifi network at full signal without an internet connection.
Under wifi configuation it reads as follows:
Configure IP - Automatic
IP Address - Blank
Subnet Mask - N/A
Router - N/A
Configure DNS - Automatic
DNS - N/A
It wouldn't look like that if it was connected to your network. Again, have you tried ethernet?

Unfortunately I do not have a cable long enough to reach my router(airport extreme). If this is the only way..I suppose I could move my tv and apple tv to a new temporary location. How should I proceed?
It's an easy way to rule out wifi issues. Have you made sure the Airport is up to date, and rebooted?
You can also go to istumbler.net (Mac) or netstumbler to get a proper report of the network.
Ok..so I've successfully moved my tv and Apple TV and now am connected to the internet using Ethernet. How do I test my wifi network..do I just unplug the Ethernet?
Yes, once you unplug the ethernet cable it will connect via wifi.
