Since the iOS 7.1 update, my iPhone 4s won't pair with my JBL Flip. It shows up as a nearby device in Bluetooth settings, but I am unable to pair with it or connect at all. Please help!

Perfect! All of a suddent today my iPhone 5S with iOS 7.1 stopped recognizing the JBL Flip and JBL Micro Wireless bluetooth speakers (I've successfully used iOS 7.1 Bluetooth since Day 1 with no prior issues). This fix worked for me weh all the other attempts didn't. Thank you!
I had the same problem. Got message "unsuccessful pairing" when trying to pair my iPad Air wit JBL Flip ! I successfully paired the JBL Flip with my Surface 4 pro ! I then "removed device" from Surface 4 pro and successfully paired my iPad Air with JBL Flip.
I was having trouble but I held down my power button on the speaker until it flashed red and blue then it found and paired.
I had the same problem with iPad Air and iPhone 5S. Try this- go to settings, Bluetooth, devices, JBL Flip - tap the "i" to "Forget This Device". Then turn the JBL Flip on, wait for a beep, then hold the power/pair button down until it flashes red/blue and you should hear 2 beeps. This should pair it it your device, then tap JBL Flip on your phone (while the blue/red is flashing), it should connect now.

Hi, I am having this same problem. My speaker is not connecting to ANYTHING. And holding down the power button on the speaker and waiting for it to flash red has been done already. It is discovered in the bluetooth section, but when I select it to pair it immediately gives me the "Pairing Unsuccessful" message.

Sounds like your speaker is broken.
As with the other posters, this helped me too. I did have one other thing to throw out there: this happened at work and I was unable to sync my iPhone to the JBL Mini. Then I realized I was on office WiFi. They've become very serious about blocking connections of all kinds, which is fine, but it hampers everything. I switched off WiFi and went to Cellular and the phone and speaker paired immediately. Just in case anyone else out there has that problem.
