One of the suggestions from the How to Troubleshoot iSight link included in the tip is to "... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service." (MBP link added here.)
Unless you decided that the estimated repair cost is prohibitive, they would have made your Mac work properly.

Mar 27, 2014 8:42 AM in response to EZ Jimby lisagrice,You're correct. I do not have Apple support. And since this is clearly a Mavericks PROBLEM as I had no problems previous to Mavericks, but then had multiple problems immediately after installing it. So no, I'd rather not pay them to fix their OS issues if there is something else I can do.
So, please let me edit my previous statement for absolute clarity:
"Obviously I have the latest Mavericks update, and I also have performed all of the suggestions given at the following EXCEPT contacting Apple support as I do not want to pay to fix this issue: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6431 already."
Perhaps someone else has a more technical approach I could try?

Perhaps your solution is no more technical than removing third-party software that causes a conflict.
We will watch for the more technical approach you seek. Hopefully, you can report success!
Cheers,
EZ Jim
P.S. Perhaps http://discussions.apple.com/thread/5939338 has the kind of "technical" ideas you seek?

Apr 1, 2014 6:48 AM in response to EZ Jimby lisagrice,Actually yes, this is the thread (droids) I have been looking for! I have followed it. I already went through all my systems information, and I don't have any 3rd party stuff like AirParrot, et al, that people have been removing drivers for and finding it working. Mine is a little less painful than others, as I can actually reboot and getting it working again, but thats still a pain (thank you onetab for saving all my open screens every time). I'll keep watching and hopefully Apple sees all the discussions on this and their engineers figure out whats causing it with 10.9.3!

If you don't want to wait that long, you can contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service. The service techs can diagnose and correct your trouble now.
