Notes don't sync. Can't use Messages on iPad Air

My life feels highly disorganized at the moment. My iPad Air doesn't allow me to send Messages or use FaceTime regardless of allowing me to access All of my Contacts. The contacts are valid and I Can use them in email, just Not in Messages.

My Notes App doesn't sync to my iPhone, iPad or iMac, nor does my calendar. Extremely frustrating!!!!

My Evernotes App on my Mac and on my iPhone And on my iPad works great!!!!

My Apple ID is set correctly and is logged in in the settings app of my iPad. No problem there it seems.

Any hints? My communications feel very vulnerable in a world where these types of communications are supposed to be made easier.

iPad, iOS 7.0.4

Hey P Willis,

Thanks for the question. Are the contacts you are attempting to FaceTime/iMessage registered with their Apple device? Remember, to iMessage or FaceTime a contact, they must be signed in with their Apple ID on a supported Apple device.

If you have verified the above, see this resource for troubleshooting information:

In regards to your issue with Notes, let’s try toggling the “Notes” option in Settings > iCloud to OFF, then back on.

Hey Matt,

Thanks so much for your response here!

Anyone whom I've been able to use iMessage, Facetime and/or Mac Mail with previously, on my iPhone or iMac, I can't on my iPad. I'm aware of the compatability rules that you've mentioned.

I did what you'd suggested with my iPhone and I can now see my notes on my iPhone (iMessage and Facetime had not been an issue on my iPhone). Once I get home, I'll do the same with my iPad and hope for the best there.

When I tried sending a contact a message, using iMessage on my iPad, regardless that I've been able to message them before in my iPhone and iMac, and regardless that they're contact information IS in my iPad "Contacts" App, I had no luck. I keep receiving a "failure" message and the contacts name (in iMessage "To:" turns to the color red.

Additionally, in the Settings of my iPad, my main Apple ID email reflects as being "not verified" regardless of the fact that I can sign in to Apple using that ID on ALL my devices and computer. When I click on "resend verification email" as I have now several times . . . nothing happens. 😟

FYi: Brand new Apple iPad 128 - NOT jailbroken.

Thanks in advance!

have you changed you apple id or your contact e mail in your profileat any point? It sounds like apple servers / cloud etc are having trouble connecting your pad to the same account as your other devices. Check again to make sure the apple ID is consistant across all devices. you might sign out and back in on all.

as respects the verification - if the pad thinks you are not yet verified, then messaging wont work. ask for a new verification e mail from apple. When you do - look real close at the 'receive at' e mail address you have declared. Mistyped? or any other error? That will be the e maila ddress they send the verification to. so be sure to check that e mauil account for the verification test. Check the spam folder while you are at it.
