Physically replacing the hard drive on most MacBook Pro models is pretty straight-forward.
If you'll give us your model information (e.g., "15-inch Late 2011") we can point you to videos showing how to replace the drive in your specific model.
You may also want to look at SSHDs - depending on what sort of capacity you're looking for. They are hybrid drives which offer some SSD storage with the majority of the storage being standard spinning platters - but are surprisingly inexpensive.
