Q: my cd plyer wont run any disck it just like i put a disck  in and then it tries to run the disck but nothing happens just stops tring to run the cd and then gives me the disc back is it broken or something or is there something that i need to do ?

    It sounds like the lens on your optical drive is dirty. Use a cleaning DVD or wrap a microfiber cloth around a credit card and carefully slide it in and out a few times.

    Another help source (if you haven't already done so).

     

    Go to your OS Help Menu.  In the search field type dvd

    Click on all the troubleshooting topics & Support Articles that pertain to  your issue.

     

    You can also do the same in Disk Utility.  Open same up.

    At the bottom left of the window, click on the purple button w/the "?" in the middle.

    This will bring up the Help Menu.
