Q: mail will not send

This is happening to both my Iphone 5 and Ipad. I can receive email on both but can not send emails without doing the following: shut off iphone/ipad, restart iphone/ipad, open mail account, delete current account, reopen same email account. I have the current software 7.1 and this issue seems to have happened when I updated. In case it matters me email is Roadrunner.

    Try deleting the account, then restarting your device by holding down Home and Sleep buttons until the Apple logo appears.

     

    THEN - add back the roadrunner account (I'm suprised anyone still uses them - they are awful).

     

    - Do you have any other email accounts on the device?

     

    What happens now if you try to send mail?
