Q: i can't access the mac store, so how do i download mavericks?

I've been going around in circles for the last hour trying (vainly) to download Mavericks.  Now that I finally have the Mac Store App, I click on it only to receive the message that I can't access the store.  So, how in the h--- am I supposed to download Mavericks?
