2012 MacBook Pro WiFi: No hardware installed

Hey guys. About a week ago, my MacBook Pro 2012's wifi started drooping out. Sometimes a reboot would fix it, sometimes it would not. Even if it worked, it would only last a few minutes. I tried resetting the SMC and NVram and even wiped the hard drive. My warranty also expired about 5 or 6 months ago so that's not really an option. At couple of night ago, however, everything worked fine but then in the morning it finally spat out "no hardware installed." Strangely, Bluetooth still worked even though I thought they were on the same chip. Anyways, I took it to a guy I know who previously worked for Apple and he tried reseating the airport card with no luck. I bought a brand new one from a store and am having my buddy put that one it. But if that one doesn't work, what should I do? Thanks!
