Two devices with same Apple ID

Hi there,

Unfortunately we are not a very technical fami;y and by mistake, or lack of knowledge I set up my son's ipnone using my husbands Apple ID. I now realise that I have to create a seperate I.D. for my son but how do I delete or disconnect him from my husbands Apple I.D. account without erasing all of my husbands stored data?

Thanks

Hi,

On your son's iPhone you just need to remove the Apple ID in the places the iPhone is using it.

Let's start with the iPhone > Settings > iMessages.

Start with de-selecting the Apple ID as one of the Send and Receive options

Then remove the Apple ID itself.

Place the iPhone in in Airplane Mode for a few Minutes. This breaks contacts with at least the iMessages server in this case.

Now turn to Settings > iCloud.

Again turn off all the settings that it may be syncing with.

then remove the Apple ID here.

You may have to check Settings Mail separately to make sure the email is not still listed for that app.

Again check the iTunes app, FaceTime and the Game Center at least.

Then you can Add the new Apple ID that you or your son gets.

You will be extracting one items from the Sync processes fro the most part and the "registrations" for FaceTime and the iMessages part of the Messages app.

It will not effect the data on your husband's Mac or any info he has in iCloud On line.
