Displaying old page when I use the back button

I've seen this problem mentioned in 2011 but not a recent post. Running Maveriks and the latest Safari on my Macbook Air. When I am browsing a website such as cnet.com or smh.com.au I usually use the back button to go back. Problem is when I do this an outdated home page is displayed from a week or so earlier even though I originally landed on the current home page.

I can clear the cache but it keeps happening.

Is there a fix for this?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Sorry, let me clarify. I clear the cache then after a week or 2 the same thing will start to occur.

The other insight is that cnet.com used to be OK, now with their new website I am getting the same issue as I get with smh.com.au. Other wensites such as news.com.au don't have this issue.

On my Windows PC at work I dont seem to have the same issue.
