Q: Voice recognition works on everything EXCEPT the calendar.  The microphone icon is greyed out.  Why?

I tried that - it didn't help.  WHat confounds me is that the system works fine in other apps (iMessage, email, notes...) the icon is just greyed out in the calendar app. and I really need it to work!

no.  I don't wnat to merge my calendar with the cloud - I don't wnat to merge anything with the cloud!

i tried to do this - set my icloud to green for calendar.  Now my entire calendar is deleted.  I tried re-syncing with outlook to no avail.  I also cannot syn my other calendars now.  I hate icloud.

notes, reminders, email, none of those are "green": on the icloud.  all of them have working voice recognition.

ok - i took your advice. now i have no caledars on my phone.  How do I re-sync them??

sweatted several bullets but got my calendars re-sync'd.  Still have the original problem with voice recognition and calendar app.

well - it's not working on mine.  Any one else have an idea??
