Can I Upgrade?

Hey forum, I was wondering if you can upgrade straight into Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leapard) from Mac OS 9.x.x? I have an iBook G4, Mac OS 9.0.x, 768MB RAM 1.22GHz PowerPC 40GB HDD with DVD-ROM early 2004 snow white edition. I want to know because if I can i'd be alot easier than going from OS to OS. You know? I have all the versions if I can't go for a straight shot but please! Feel free to comment! Thnx! 🙂

While it's possible to upgrade directly, no iBook is capable of booting both versions; only the G3s can boot any version of Mac OS 9, and all of those are incapable of running Mac OS X 10.5.

Okay, so answer me this... Can I wipe the iBook G4 OS? Reason being, it has Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leapard) but wont get past the blue screen right before it shows a window saying: Starting Mac OS X and the loader underneath. but it's stuck in boot at a blue screen right before that. So, is there a system image file messed up? I was kinda screwing around with the Core System files exactly before this started. Thnx!
