Hi Ajaykumar

Your solution is working with me too for "chills".

I am using a MacBook Pro - OSX 10.8.5 and Indesign CS 5.5 (Middle East) version.

How can we type "Kottaksharam"? like "KKA", "NDA" etc.

Is there any way we can type using "Panchari" fonts in Indesign?

Used this font when I was working in Kerala. It was a licensed version with dongle and the keyboard layout is very familiar to me.

It will be really helpful, if you can help me on this.

thanks

In the internationally standard Unicode system, conjunct characters are typed by putting the virama between the two characters. The virama is the D key in the Apple Malayalam layout and the F key in the Malayalam Qwerty layout. With Malayalam Qwerty

KKA is kfk or ക്ക

NDA is nfd or ന്ദ

Please try the following combination to get chillu aksharam on Mac INSCRIPT keyboard.

Type the base consonant e.g. ṇa, na, ra, la, ḷa, ka followed by the virama (chandrakala) twice in succession. OS X would transform the base letter to a chillu aksharam.

PS: Not sure why the response can only be in English! I was not able to add my response in Malayalam.
