Why MBA is not detecting my iPhone 4s via USB?

I was able to use personal hotspot via USB while runnng on Mavericks. Since Mavericks decided to freeze my MBA (Late 2010) every hour, I had no choice but to downgrade to Snow Leopard. After the downgrade, MBA is not detecting the iPhone (ios7) in the network settings. Personal hotspot seems to work just fine via wifi but not via USB. iTunes also detects my iPhone via USB without any issues.

How to make it work like before?

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
