I downloaded a movie and some TV shows to play while travelling but when I open iTunes to play them it is blank except for a message telling I have no internet connection. Is there a way to play movies and TV shows without an Internet connection?
As I would like to play them while flying the ipad needs to be in Airplane mode.

The films and TV shows are already on my ipad, the problem I am experiencing is when I open iTunes on the ipad it shows a blank screen and says I need an internet connection.
You don't need to use iTunes on your iPad to watch it, films and/or TV programmes that you sync to your iPad (or download from the iTunes store directly on the iPad) should be in the built-in Videos app, and you shouldn't need to be online to watch them in that.

If you currently have Settings > iTunes & App Store > Videos (under the 'show all' heading) 'on' then when the iPad is online you will get films and/or TV shows that are in the cloud (i.e. not downloaded) showing in the Videos app with a cloud icon on them (films and/or TV shows can't be redownloaded in all countries) - as they are only in the cloud they won't show in Videos when the iPad is offline (so if you want to watch those you will need to download them, via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app, prior to going offline)
