My device isn't showing up in iTunes?

Hi. I'm not sure if this happened when I updated my iTunes or my iPhone...(I have an iPhone 5) but, for some reason whenever I plug in my phone via USB, it's not showing up in devices. I used to sync it through wifi as well and it's not showing up there either. My iTunes is running 11.1.5 and my phone is 7.1...not sure if this is because of the update or what? If anyone knows how to fix this, PLEASE help! I can't sync any of my music or anything. 😟

I also have a Macbook, not sure if this affects anything, but yeah, please help.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.1

Thanks for that, but that's from a year ago and I followed all the steps and it's still not working. 😟 If anyone else has other suggestions, please let me know.

I'm getting the same problem, i run OS X 10.8.5 and my itunes is 11.1.5. Whenever i plug my iPhone 5 in via USB nothing happens apart from it charging.

hi, i was having the exact same problem but was using a charging cable that i had bought off ebay, when i put the original apple one in it worked

I had same issue -- using the original charging cable from Apple did the trick. Did a test and none of the third party lightning cables connect iPhone to iTunes. - KEL

I've only original Apple cables and none of them work. I mean my iPhone 5 (with iOS 9.2.1) does not show up in iTunes 12.3.2.35.

Another tip ?
