Itunes Video is laggy in HD

Hello, whenever I try to play an HD video in Itunes the video lags then plays then stops then lags in that order. I tested it on Windows Media Player on the same PC with the same file and it worked perfectly. Also when I play a SD video it plays perfectly in Itunes. How do I fix this glitch.
