can i cancel out of an itunes backup
My manual backup has been running for over 8 hours. What happens if I cancel it at this point?
iPhone 4, iOS 7.1
Oh btw, it's a backup in itunes, not icloud.

Have you backed this phone up before? Do you have a large number of photos in the camera roll that have never been backed up? You can cancel the backup, close iTunes, restart the computer and then start again. The only time I've seen a backup last that long is a few iOS back when photos would cause a problem, but not lately.
Thanks Chrisj4203. I cancelled out of my back up, closed iTunes, restarted my computer as you suggested and restarted the back up. Sure enough, this time it only took about 15 minutes.
