Every time I try to use my Apple TV, I press menu on my remote, the front light comes on but the video never comes on. The only thing I can do is unplug it to reboot. It always comes back after the reboot. How can I fix this?
What TV are you using? Connected directly via HDMI? Have you tried a different cable and port?
My Apple TV is connected to an LG 47LH90 via HDMI. The cable and port were both reciently changed (due to an unrelated issue) and it did not impact this issue.
Try a restore via iTunes

Did you do a restore via iTunes as suggested? That is different from a reset
