I just downloaded Maverick OS X 10.9.2 and everything seems to be working just fine....except when I went to open iPhoto is not there any more. Does anyone know how to open it to retrieve all my pics????

iPhoto is not part of OS X. You must get the upgrade via the App Store along with the other iLife applications.
Do you have a backup you can restore it from?
Thanks Kappy. I downloaded the Iphone app and everything is now fine. The download did take a long time but at least it's working.
I do not know what the iLife app is so didn't download that...will look into it later on!
