I think I lost my iPhone, so I went into my iCloud to use the Find My iPhone app. The location was a place that I was unfamiliar with so I activated "Lost Phone." I then erased it, the location then changed to my office. Why would the location change?
I did not realize once I erased my phone that I wouldn't be able to use the Lost Phone capability.

This describes what happens when you activate Find My iPhone. I think you are pleading ignorance of the last sentence under step 3.
Why would the location say one place with Find my iPhone, then change once it has been erased?
I would not have erased it if it originally said it was located where it says it is now...
Does the answer really matter? I don't know, but does the answer affect whatever your next step should be?

I'm bothered that the location changed as soon as I erased my phone, so I would like to if anybody else has had this problem. My next step will be different based on the actual location of my phone.
