Q: OS X Mavericks upgrade problem

Since upgrading to os x mavericks I can not access my iPhoto library in screen saver.  What do I do to fix that?  My iPhoto version is 8.1.2

iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

It would appear to be a bug with that version of iPhoto.  I have the same.  If I select a plain folder of photos, it works just fine.

I have no plain folders in the selection within screen saver.  It shows iphoto but it's not available to choose. (gray)  What plain folder are you referring to?

Pick a screen saver that lets you select photos.   You'll have a pull down menu below the Preview that says "Source"   Click on the source pull down menu, and select Choose Folder, that way you can select a folder within the Finder you have stored photos.
