Q: would having only 1 GB Memory Effect the Installation of OS X Mavericks?

having issues with the install... I meet all the Requirements but the 2 GB of Memory

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

You cannot install Lion or later without at least 2 GBs of installed RAM. Go buy more memory and install it. Otherwise, you cannot upgrade from where you now are.

The consensus seems to be 4 GB is a more realistic minimum.

The 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service.
