iPhone is attached to laptop with iTunes on.....i check Manually manage songs and videos...
then I click on Music for the iPhone within iTunes...click sync to sync specific playlists...
i go back to Summary tab for iPhone, and Manually manage box is unchecked....
after each step, i have hit apply and sync.....
it's maddening...

Then you cannot sync selected platylists.

Because you changed your mind and now want to sync selected playlists.
If you manually manage music and videos, you must drag songs to the iPhone to put them on it and select them on on the iPhone to delete them.
in iTunes, why does "manually manage songs..." keep getting UNCHECKED?
