Bluetooth iPhone 4s to Mac

So I was trying to access internet in terms of bluetooth from mac to iphone 4s. i dont understand why is my iphone taking too long to scan for my mac. is this a hardware problem? Because my ipod seemed okay, it connected. my iphone 4s scans yet too long, plus if i attempted to pair it via mac, it says that the mac is unsupported. i dont understand anymoreee. help!
