My earpods for ipod shuffle 3rd generation has spoiled. But I can't use my earpods of my iphone 5 to replace it. It can adjust volume or control playback when connected to my iphone, but cannot function when connected to ipod. May i know why?

The EarPods headphones are not compatible with the 3rd gen iPod shuffle.

One alternative is to buy an adapter that has the remote control buttons. For example

You can then connect any standard headphones, including the EarPods, to the adapter.
