I want to buy iphone, one shop is selling iphone at a price 11% more than other, what can be the difference in both?how may i know

Hello everyone,

I live in Middle East. I am interested in buying an iphone 5s. Recently I found two shops of cellphones which are selling iphone 5s, both of whom are claiming to be the phone having facetime in it.

One of the shop is selling the iphone 5s, 16 gb at a price 11% lower than the other one. Ofcourse that attracted me and I was almost going to buy that but then I thought of first confirming by asking here on the official forum, that what could be the actual difference between such a price difference? Is there anything like the shop with the one selling the phone would be lying about the facetime? If no, then how can I confirm myself whether they are telling the truth? Else than this, what things am I supposed to confirm while getting iphone 5s?

Both cellphones are brand new & (sealed) pin packed.

Can you please tell me what model number, firmware version etc should I be carefully looking at while considering in buying the cellphone?

How do you know they are brand new? It's really easy to put a used phone in a box and re-shrink wrap it. The only thing you can check without opening the box is the serial number. If you enter that here you can see if the phone has been previously activated: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do

Even if it is new, if it has FaceTime it is gray market, meaning it was made for use in another country. And it may be locked to a carrier in that country. If you call Apple with the serial number they can tell you. For model numbers see: http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/

Yes Mr. Finch, I agree with you about the point that we dont have any surety whether the pin packed cellphones are brand new or just been re-sealed.

The following points were really good, enabling me to have some information while buying the phone:

Thank you so much 🙂
