Q: I did an update about 1.5 weeks ago. Since the update, when I click on an icon to open a program, the program will open and immediately shutdown. Is there a way to correct this. I'm a novice Mac User.

I did an update about 1.5 weeks ago. Since the update, when I click on an icon to open a program, the program flashes open and immediately shut down. How do I correct this?

What program?
Have you checked for updates?
Have you reinstalled the program?

If it is all programs, try reinstalling the 10.9.2 combo update: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1726
