I can't remember/find the trick for restoring files in the trash to their original location. Will appreciate a reminder.
MacBook Pro, iOS 6.1.6
Right click the item in the trash (or control + click), then select Put Back from the drop down:
I just posted again. There is no Put Back in my contextual menu.
I am fairly sure the "Put Back" item was not in Snow Leopard, but was give back to us in Lion.

Actually it is there. Apparently depends on how the files are put in the trash. The ones for which I could not get the Put Back were deleted by Remove MS Office. Contextual menu worked on a regular Word doc.
