Q: OS X Mavericks v10.9.2 Update will not install after restart
My iMac continues to say I need to restart in order to install 10.9.2 but after restart it freezes up on the restart and then I have to shut down with power button. It always restarts after power shut down but then continues to say it needs to be restarted in order for install. This as been going on for weeks. I contacted Apple support - they want me to pay $ 19.99 so they can tell me how to fix their update! This is the first dissatisfied call to Apple I have had, hope it's not a trend!
iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Try to start in safe mode, pressing shift key.
Can you repair the disk from recovery partition? cmd+r -> disk utilities -> first aid
Can you have access to your applications directory? look for the copy mavericks installer and reinstall.
Several things to try keep pushing.
