Q: @me.com not working - is anyone else having the same problem?

Hi, my @me.com email is not working, I tried removing and adding the account again but still nothing, just error message

"Technical details of permanent failure:

Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain me.com by mx3.me.com.akadns.net. [17.172.34.64]."

which I assume (sorry not a technical person) is a problem at @me server end - can someone please confirm? I have checked @icloud and @gmail these works fine - is this happening to anyone else and any advice? thank you

me.com was hung up to dry years ago. Whatever your me.com address was it should work using @icloud.com.

ooh, thanks for getting back to me - I'm not very up to speed on all of this until it stops working !! - another question if I may? so if someone emails me on @me.com will I still receive if via @icloud ??

No. You need to tell people to change your email address to the @icloud.com address.

But even now me.com addresses function like aliases of the icloud.com addresses. From http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2623:

If you created an iCloud account on or after September 19, 2012, your email address ends with @icloud.com. Learn more about @icloud.com mail addresses.
If you created an iCloud account before September 19, 2012, or moved to iCloud with an active MobileMe account before August 1, 2012, you have both @me.com and @icloud.com email addresses.

I have both addresses. There may have been a temporary glitch with the servers.

Yes, I just sent a message to my @me.com address from my Yahoo account and it arrived instantly.
