how can i transfer non ibooks books in my ibooks app on my ipad to my ibooks app on my macbook air?

    You should be able to copy them over by connecting your iPad to your Mac's iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases (that should copy PDFs and epubs that are in the iBooks app, not just actual ibooks), and then in the iBooks app on your Mac do File > Move Books From iTunes.
