process name revisiond running a high cpu

Hey, so I am having a problem with my fan running at high speeds and it causing it to heat up and kill the battery a lot faster. I go to activity monitor and its revsiond running at 99%cpu. I got it to quit once and my fans slowy dropped back down to where i could barley hear them but now its back and I dont know how to fix it. help

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

You could attempt to Quit the specific item loading the CPU, from Activity Monitor; as described in the following:


•Runaway applications can shorten battery runtime, affect performanace, and increase heat/fan activity:

However you may have to see if resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) could help resolve whatever the base issue behind such activities; and double-check to see if any user-installed add-ons or startup items are behind the loading problem.

Looking through the ASC discussions, I see a few question comments about a process using excessive CPU cycles, by the name revisiond so if you choose to Quit this within Activitiy Monitor, be sure to look into the root cause of it. Most anything you choose to Quit may return on a restart of the computer at some later time.
