Playlist Sorting & Download All Confusion

Up until today, I've been syncing my music between iTunes and my iPhone despite using Match between my Macs. I decided to make the leap to Match on the iPhone today and now I'm really confused about how iOS handles playlists in Match.

Sorting Playlists. Is there any documentation for how playlists are sorted on the iOS device? It's not either alphabetically or matching the iTunes display. On my iPhone, they seem to be all jumbled up. Some smart playlists appear at the top of the list, playlist names that start with numbers are at the bottom of that list instead of the top as in iTunes. Following that is a mixture of folders and non-smart playlists. This batch is really odd. In an effort to determine sort order, I renamed all my folders so they start with "aa ". The sort order on the iPhone seems to be ignoring the "aa " and mixing folders with non-smart playlists based on the remainder of the name. Ditto if I use "-" or "_" as the prefix.

If I can figure out the pattern, I should be able to rename playlists to make them sort the way I want, but so far I haven't figured it out.

Download All. Is there some logic to when a playlist gets a download all button? Some of mine have it and some don't. There doesn't seem to be any pattern. Playlists in or out of folders may or may not have the button. The only thing that might begin to be a pattern is that all four non-smart playlists that show up on the phone have it. The problem is I have over 70 smart playlists that have most of my music.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.1
