I have gotten a new cell number and when I try to update it in my apple account it won't accept my number as a "valid" number. I can't use messages on my iPad until it accepts my number. I can't figure out whats going on. I'm definitely putting in my correct number. Help!

I've done all of that. When I sign into my apple, itunes or icloud accounts and change the number to my current number it keeps saying that it isn't a valid number.
Is your new number connected with an iphone? what model#?
No it's my android phone #.
Then that is the issue, iMessages is an Apple service designed to only be used by Apple devices.
So for a number to be registered it must be for an iPhone.
