App store does nothing since Mavericks "install".

I have tried all suggestions I have come across online. I have "reinstalled" multiple times, I have done the terminal suggestion in the restore menu. I have reset permissions in the reset password section of the restore menu. I have tried deleting the suggested files in /Library. Nothing, still. All I want to do is install the new Garageband, and then I will literally not use the app store for anything but updates(which work, go figure) for who knows how long. Anyone have any actual concrete advice or fixes for this? I am stuck. My mac is basically an internet and a few 3rd party apps machine at this point. Thank you for your time, I am desperate.
